The Jerry Schneider Story

The Jerry Schneider Band was formed in June of 1967. The year 2002 marked 35 years of providing polka, waltz and big band entertainment by the Jerry Schneider Band. The band has a large library of German selections as well as some Czech polkas and waltzes. Most of the tunes are sung in one, two and three way harmony plus many instrumentals.

The Jerry Schneider Band has six musicians with a combination of trumpets, saxophones, clarinet, button accordions, keyboard, drums and tuba. The band plays for many summer picnics, county fairs, polka festivals and German Fests in Wisconsin and surrounding states including the well known Milwaukee German Fest at the Lake Front in July of each year.

Jerry Schneider, as leader of his band, demonstrates versatility by playing Alto Sax and Trumpet.
The band also features numerous selections with the Button Accordion. Jerry is pictured here.

Some of the highlights for the band are entertaining on three Caribbean Oktoberfest cruises and being selected to entertain at The John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on May 2nd, 1992 for "The Tribute to Germany Festival".

The band has five C.D.'s, the most recent recorded and released in 2002. Jerry Schneider hosts his own live radio show every Saturday morning from 7:00 to 10:00am on AM 1530 WMBE, Chilton, plus a pre-recorded one hour syndicated show aired on six other radio stations in Wisconsin and one station in upper Michigan every weekend.
